Welcome (Week of September 12th, 2022)

Hey everyone! My name is Kailan Wendler and I am a senior Sports, Arts, and Entertainment Management major student at Point Park University. My main focus is Entertainment as I would love to pursue a career in the industry as a Tour Manager!

To help me advance in my career aspirations, I accepted an Internship with Stage AE, a concert venue in the North Shore of Pittsburgh. There, I help with the marketing side of things. This week I started off with office work. I updated the Artist Page spreadsheet which allows Stage AE to keep track of each show coming to the venue. Not only that, but it also helps to make sure each show has a Facebook event page and a working ticket link. Many people find out about shows through social media, and since Facebook has an event RSVP option, it's important for those to be up alongside a ticket link for easy purchasing access.

On Tuesday, the 13th, I worked the Injury Reserve and IDLES show. On show days, interns are responsible for switching out the promotional posters around the venue. These posters correlate with the type of music/crowd of the performer that night. For example, on this show day we put up promotional material for artists such as YungBlud, AWOLNATION, Death Cab for Cutie, and Turnstile. With these flyers, we hope to engage concert-goers to come out to more shows that they may be familiar with but might not know are happening.
